My Approach
I am honored to be invited into each of my client's stories. It is an act of bravery to engage vulnerably in a therapeutic relationship, and I do not take this trust lightly. My hope is to come alongside clients to assist them in navigating difficulties and moving toward a place of health and healing.
While my therapeutic approach is tailored to client need, I primarily utilize an existential framework and Cognitive-Behavioral techniques. I have specialized training in Cognitive Processing Therapy for the treatment of trauma. I worked for many years in an adult behavioral health clinic specializing in the treatment of depression, anxiety, and trauma. Currently, I work with clients age 18 and older, helping them identify and manage mental health challenges, navigate life transitions, and cope with and learn from past and present experiences. I am also passionate about counseling couples to help them develop skills to overcome barriers in communication, improve conflict resolution, and build intimacy.
I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University and completed my Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Denver Seminary. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas and am a San Antonio native. I love living in this city with my husband and three daughters.
